Dort war ich einmal für ein paar Tage, als es noch ausschließlich von der amerikanischen Luftwaffe genutzt wurde, obwohl es sich Royal Air-Force Base nannte.
Wenige Autominuten entfernt gab es einen kleinen Ort mit sehr schönen Fachwerkhäusern und einem urgemütlichem Pub. Leider war das englische Bier nicht nach meinem Geschmack, doch davon mal abgesehen kann ich nur Gutes sagen. Auch die Engländer, mit welchen ich mich unterhielt, waren ausnahmslos sehr höfliche und angenehme Menschen.
Und die Unterkünfte in der Kaserne waren besser als in manchen Hotels.
