I would definitely stay away. This is a place with such a shockingly disrespectful and dismissive owner who dismisses your perfectly legit questions with exclamation points and rude attitude. Someone who respects her business definitely doesn`t behave this way and patiently replies client`s questions. I was shocked at her way of talking with a client, I tried to be constructive but she got more and more aggressive. In the end when I told her I would write a review of her unacceptable behavior, she threatened me that she will pass my name to every teaching center in Newbury with absolutely no basis which I believe is not legal and I am happy to act on. Please, please have your lessons online or via private tutors who offer competitive prices, or choose another school.
ANSWER FOR OWNER'S REPLY: Unfortunately the owner has given a misleading reply. 1. I said i wanted to get a sense of the teacher backgrounds ( certification etc) , in this exact wording (cv was only one of the solutions i thought of to which she could have totally offered another solution) which is totally my right as a student, to which she started writing in an aggressive tone and exclamation points. Then she said i shouldn't be their client because i don't trust them. So the major issue became her lack of respect and communication skills. 2. I didn't reject anything offered by them. So that is not true. 3. When i first contacted them they were so bad at guiding me about what sort of lessons they could offer us that i had to be the one who offered a language test to detect the level of the student. To this day i still don't know the result of that test since the lady snapped at me with no understandable reason.
4. With "intense question" the lady means my question about the general background of their teachers ( certification etc) question so her generalization of "intense questions" as if it is plural is absolutely misleading. This was the one and only question she snapped at and i really wonder why. Plus i would like to emphasize i patiently answered all her questions, so it was not just me asking the questions, it was also her.
To sum up,the issue here went far beyond my language needs, it became an issue of wrong and disrespectful attitude which the owner doesn't contradict she possesses. She thinks she is entitled to speaking to people in a rude manner, if she justifies that in her mind. I am glad i didn't work with them, didn't pay thousands of pounds only to confront such an unacceptable attitude.

A wonderful experience so far with the VICI Academy! Such a warm welcome from Nathalie who explained in detail how the academy works for you as an individual creating a program that fits in with your lifestyle. I’ve wanted to learn Italian for as long as I can remember but as I’m unable to commit to a weekly class/lesson I assumed this would be almost impossible. I start my one to one lessons this week and cannot wait! Thank you for fulfilling my dream. Now the hard work starts :-).

I absolutely loved my 1 to 1 lessons with Esther at the Vici Language Academy. We met weekly via the interactive platform to learn Spanish. The platform worked really well to talk to each other, be taught by Esther,use the whiteboard to write and watch clips of videos. It was truly a hugely rewarding experience which I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn a language. I would also highly recommend Esther as a wonderful teacher who made learning a lot of fun!

Sadly, my 20-lesson course in German with Aneta at VICI came to an end last week. She is an excellent teacher and her lessons answered my needs brilliantly. In each lesson she taught me a topic in grammar which is what I wanted to learn, and built up my understanding gradually in a focused way. She provided me with materials to consolidate my knowledge and give me practice in using the grammar to read, write and understand sentences more confidently. I now feel I have the foundations to build on Aneta’s lessons and improve my understanding and comprehension further so that I reach a stage where I can read in German which was my original aim. Many, many thanks to Aneta for providing me with such an excellent beginning! And thanks to Nathalie at VICI for making these lessons possible.

Now both my daughter and I have benefited from Aneta’s teaching!

Have been at Vici for a while now learning Japanese and have been absolutely loving it! My teacher Keiko is really lovely and she explains everything so well that I'm able to pick up new things much more quickly than I have been in the past, helping me progress much faster. Vici has been really helpful from the start and are incredibly flexible when it comes to booking lessons since I have a pretty hectic schedule so I can't always make each lesson if something comes up last minute. Nathalie has also been very helpful with giving me advice on various ways that I could potentially turn my love of Japanese into a career in the future 🙂 Really can't recommend it enough!

We have two great teachers for our Bien Dire French class. The group itself has become a group of friends now and the excellent teaching is done through a combination of oral and written work, as well as listening exercises and watching short videos.
