Suddenly I received an email about changing the class to a lower level. I did not take any test!! I had only spent 3 weeks. After that, I prepared for the IELTS test and took the test after two weeks and got a score even higher than the first level before the change. During my stay, I did not practice writing at all and did not take any tests and my level was changed without a test?!! One star for the location and the nice reception staff. I completed the rest of my education in another school. I wish everyone success in a supportive and encouraging environment

From September 2022 to May 2023, I studied English at Kaplan for 8 months and later completed my master’s degree in the UK. Reflecting on my two years in the UK, I want to provide some feedback on Kaplan.

I began with intermediate English courses and progressed to upper-intermediate levels. I encountered a few dedicated teachers, like Anne from Brazil, who taught practical English and was well-liked. However, only about 30% of the teachers I met were truly responsible and effective.

One British female teacher stands out for all the wrong reasons. Her classes were disorganized and lacked respect for students. She once used an entire class to teach the word "cannibalism" using a cartoon video, even highlighting China’s history with this term. This was not only irrelevant but also inappropriate for our learning level. On another occasion, she had us debate controversial topics like gender rights, which wasn’t suitable for students struggling with basic English.

Her behavior reflected poorly on Kaplan, and such unprofessional conduct could even be seen as racist. My experience with her made me decide against extending my course. Kaplan should thoroughly evaluate their teachers to ensure a positive learning environment for all international students.

I love the UK for its rich culture and diversity, and I hope Kaplan can better represent these values. I encourage all international students to speak up and stand for their rights whenever they encounter unfair situations. I wish everyone success in their studies and a positive experience.

This school has very few specialized teachers, and they often change teachers and classrooms without any reason or prior notice, which results in a very poor experience. The school also charges excessively for social activities. I paid £60 for a day trip, but the fee didn’t include lunch; it only covered the travel information and the guide. However, the school made the students act as guides and did nothing themselves, showing no responsibility at all. The fee only included the train ticket, which would have cost us just a bit over £15 if we had bought it ourselves. I find this very frustrating.

Unique place. The best school I've been to so far. Especially teachers, such legends as Charlie, Dominic and Carol won't ever make me forget those 6 months. Worth every pound spent. If you are looking for knowledge, fun, friends and understanding of british culture, this is the place.

It's the best option for those who need to push themselves to practice fluent conversations. Through the placement test you are placed in the class that best suits your level, the teachers will guide you and help you improve. It's really worth it.

The language school is good, the teachers motivated. The student accommodation at Scape Shoreditch really bad: Due to scaffolding the window could not be opened. In the absence of aircon, that meant you had to leave the apartment several times at night for oxygen. No assistance provided by accommodation staff or Kaplan, no refund offered.

Various nationality of student, compare to other big school. The age of the student is normally 20’s. If you want to learn business english, I guess there are good alternatives out. But if you want to make foriegn friends and learn languages for further study, it’s great place. They have good teachers (of course some of them are not perfect though).
And location is also good to travel overall london. (Especially good for musical fans)

Talking only about the education offered (excluding transfers, home stays, residences, etc.), this school is great. I’m studying to have a Cambridge exam and the teacher and lessons absolutely live up to expectations. I‘ve learned a lot since I got here.
Also, the variety of students. I have friends from all over the world, so studying in this school is a great opportunity to meet foreign cultures and make great friendships with people who also are in my same situation.
