I’ve been taking Mandarin classes at Dear Asia/Practical Mandarin for a couple of months now, and it’s been such a great experience! The school is accessible by tube, which makes life so much easier. The classes are small, so you get plenty of attention and support from the teachers. Speaking of the teachers, they’re amazing! A special thanks to Teacher Gen, who’s been so patient and encouraging. She really makes learning Mandarin fun. If you’re looking to learn Chinese, I highly recommend this school!

I've had a brilliant time studying Mandarin Chinese with Dear Asia. I've done two terms so far and both of my teachers (Gen and Tracy) have been spectacular, making sessions fun with quizzes (hence the googly bell!), certificates, games and lots of interesting cultural information. I'm amazed at how much I've learnt from the materials and the teachers are also lovely as human beings: when our class went for an impromptu end-of-term dinner after our final class, our teacher very sweetly came with us to explain the characters and the food. It's a great school, thoroughly recommend it!

Practical Mandarin offers the best Chinese Classes in London by far, and is also really good value. I tried lots of other schools but found PM teachers teach the course very professionally but also make it really fun. All the teachers are great but Teacher Chen 陈老师 is the best. She explains things really clearly and makes it interesting.

I've been studying with Dear Asia London for about nine months now and have really enjoyed the weekly classes. The teachers put a lot of effort into their classes and create a really lovely atmosphere, so it's a great experience studying here each week. The classes have a relaxed feel, but still push you to challenge yourself and learn more.

I’ve been doing Mandarin lessons with Dear Asia for ~6 months now and have made huge progress. I started as a complete beginner with 0 knowledge and am already able to have basic conversations - my Chinese friends are all very impressed! I’m confident that if I continue at this rate with Dear Asia I’ll be fluent faster that I initially envisioned. My main teacher is Mei, who’s awesome and very experienced, and provides rich cultural colour to her lessons. I’ve also had lessons with other teachers (Gen and Ficke) who are also excellent. Dear Asia has been such an amazing learning opportunity for a beginner like me.

I never thought I'd be able to read and write Japanese but Dear Asia has brought it to reality!!

The group classes are small enough to have as much engagement and ask as many questions as you like. The classes were structured so you could advance without over complicating or confusing things with what you've already learned.

The teachers I've met have all been wonderful. They are there to help you succeed.

I can't wait to sign up for the next level.

The classes were incredibly enjoyable and engaging, and it really motivated me to study more in my own time. Honami-sensei’s teaching style was clear and effective, and she made the lessons so much fun. I especially appreciated how she went above and beyond by teaching us additional useful words and phrases outside of the curriculum. Had a lot of fun learning with the other students each week and practising speaking with them. We had a cute little graduation at the end of the last class with Japanese snacks, graduation music and certificates!

I've been really enjoying the classes!
The way they're structured make it easy to have time to study in between and the freedom to bring different topics to discuss. Also, having a native speaker teacher is great when it comes to learning the proper pronunciation.
