Spanish for Fun - Spanish adult conversation lessons in Stoke Gifford - Bristol

I studied French & German at school over 40 years ago, but never particularly liked the lessons. However, this autumn I started Spanish language classes with Ale (i.e. Alejandra Castro) & I'm really enjoying it. I still find that learning another language isn't easy for me, but Ale makes it interesting & fun as well as educational. I would definitely encourage anyone that's currently thinking about learning another language to enrol on one of her courses.

Completely recommend the lessons with Ale!

I started my lessons in January and completed 2 terms with Alejandra, even coming to classes after I had moved out of Bristol. When I was searching for classes, it was important to me to not have a formal classroom setting and Ale's welcoming informal atmosphere in which lessons are held perfectly achieved this. The classes were a great size of up to 6 people which allowed a lot of focus on individual questions and Ale did great at aiding us with our learning.

The classes were fun, engaging and easy to follow (I did the improver level class) and I learnt so much over the course of my time with Ale. Before starting, I only had very basic Spanish words knowledge ( I wanted to push myself to the improvers class rather than beginners as I was preparing to move/ travel in Spanish speaking countries) and by the end I was able to hold simple conversations, and communicate my needs while travelling. I am now travelling and am amazed at how much I understand and how much I am able to communicate thanks to my lessons.

Additionally to lessons, Ale organised fun activities which you could join. For example, I did a yoga session in Spanish which was fantastic. Ale also would share other Spanish events such as movies at watersheds which was very helpful!

Ale has been a fun, charismatic and passionate teacher, sending regular teaching materials and really connecting with her students and personalising their learning journeys. If I am back in Bristol I will definitely be returning!

Alejandra is a natural teacher - being both patient and enthusiastic; so I find the Spanish lessons are thoroughly enjoyable and engaging. Highly recommended.

Ale's classes are great. I joined half way through the term, but Ale has helped me catch up and makes sure we are all on track. The lessons are fun and easy to follow, but we learn a lot in each session. The supporting material, on and off line is excellent. The class is small enough to feel like 1 to 1 teaching but having the other classmates makes it more interactive and we learn well from each other.

I joined the classes about 10 years ago in order to keep my brain active. Plus I had always wanted to learn Spanish. It is an enjoyable experience, our group has stayed together, we have become firm friends over the years. Ale has a delightful personality & is responsive to our requests.
As I have a problem with sight issues, my main concern with the materials is that a larger font & bolder print would help me & I think others.
I would recommend the classes to adults wishing to brush up or challenge themselves to learn this beautiful language..

I’ve been having Spanish lessons with Ale for about three years now and cannot recommend them enough. Ale is so warm and friendly that I felt welcomed and at ease from my first class. She has a number of different classes for different levels and is flexible to help find an option that works for you. She has a natural enthusiasm for giving the classes and you can tell she genuinely loves helping people learn in a friendly and fun environment. There have also been a number of social events to add to the experience and meet other students.

I would highly recommend for anyone in the area thinking about learning Spanish.
