I had been trying to teach myself Italian and had made some progress but decided to look for a class to join to keep me on track and to have a tutor who could help me develop further. I found Dimmelo Italian classes on line and decided to try an online class instead. I must admit it has worked really well for me. I can come straight home from work, get ready and just log on to join. I feel part of the group just as much as I would in a college based class. I have found that Paul manages to keep everyone in the group really involved and engaged and you can tell that he keeps a note of people's individual strengths and learning needs. I feel I have benfited so much from having a tutor and doing regular classes. Paul is obviously a very experienced tutor and the exercises he sets and the teaching materials he uses are really varied which keeps things interesting and has really helped me to learn. Paul is a really friendly guy as well with a great sense of humour and his love of Italy and the Italian language clearly shines through. I have learnt so much in the past few months from attending the online classes, much more than I expected, and will definitely be continuing with these. Thanks Paul and keep up the good work.

I have been attending Paul's classes for many years and intend to continue. I really do enjoy them. Paul goes to a great deal of trouble to make the lessons interesting and challenging. Most of all the lessons come with a light touch and are often great fun! Most importantly I can enjoy speaking the language on my Italian holidays a little more each year.
I highly recommend the lessons for all levels of learners.

Over the last year I have been attending my Italian classes online. At first I was quite resistant to the idea as I liked face to face learning however I have found it to be an enjoyable and flexible way to learn. Paul has used a range of interactive methods including video, audio and exercises which have all helped to make the sessions interesting. The virtual delivery has also meant that if I am working away I can still join the class which obviously wasn't possible before. Overall I think I would now prefer to learn in this way in the comfort of my own home!

Paul's on-line lessons for our group of five have worked well. As well as plenty of conversation, he has included videos and audio clips. His lessons have covered grammar along with practical situations you might need for an Italian holiday including travel, hotels and food and drink. As well as being very patient he also has a good sense of humour which always helps to make learning more enjoyable.

I have learnt Italian with Paul for several years and it is great to go on holiday and be able to speak a little of the language. My daughters are always asking me how to say things when they are chatting with their Italian friends.
The classes are friendly and the lessons vary each week from watching film clips, discussing topics and reading books to the more formal grammar. Paul is an easy going tutor and happy to explain things several times until you understand them.

I have been having Italian lessons with Paul since 2017 and we moved to online teaching via Skype during the pandemic in 2020. I have found the experience of learning online very satisfactory and great fun and I actually prefer it to in person teaching. Paul employs the full range of techniques from conversation to reading, dictation and listening / comprehension. We have access to Paul’s whiteboard when needing clarification for example on spelling or points of grammar. The class size is small so we all have a turn to be in the ‘spotlight’ but the lessons are never intimidating. There is also the advantage of saving on travel time and cost, and I can also join wherever I am so I do not have to miss lessons when away. I would highly recommend learning Italian with Paul online. Perchè non provarlo?

I have been having lessons with Paul at Norden Community School for few years now and I love it!
Each year when I visit Italy I can understand and speak a little more. It’s such a great feeling to communicate in another language. The best thing about the lesson is the variety and pace. We cover lots of subjects, providing plenty of useful information to use in conversation.
I can’t wait for the new term to start.

My wife and I retired at the same time several years ago. Hoping to keep the little grey cells more or less alive, we started to go to Italian classes. For all the time we have been with Paul we have found him a to be a good teacher, very patient with us when we cannot grasp a finer point of Italian grammar. In addition to the grammar, translating from one language to the other, and reading short stories, we have learned a great deal about Italy and things Italian – historical, cultural, gastronomical, for example. But there’s also an element of fun because most weeks Paul aims to play a game with us (in Italian, of course!). There’s always a good and cheerful atmosphere in the classes – so, come and join us!
