Helen's Achievers+ Programme was a fantastic experience for our son. He genuinely looked forward to the weekly online lessons, which were thoughtfully planned and perfectly balanced between maths and English. It was clear how much care and effort Helen put into each session, from the preparation of engaging resources to her constructive feedback on classwork and homework.

What stood out the most was Helen’s warm and encouraging approach. She created a supportive atmosphere that really helped our son build confidence, especially in areas of English that he had found challenging before. He also loved the group setting, which gave him the chance to connect with his peers and learn from their contributions.

My son has really enjoyed attending the online sessions for the 11 plus Accelerator programme. Each week there is a different topic that all the children learn. During the lessons everyone gets the opportunity to talk and ask questions. Helen provides informative and enjoyable lessons. I cannot recommend Helen highly enough for her exceptional guidance in preparing Cornelia for the 11+ exam. Initially, Cornelia faced some challenges as she encountered material that wasn’t covered in her school curriculum, pushing her outside of her comfort zone for the first time. However, Helen’s supportive and structured approach helped Cornelia navigate these ups and downs.

Throughout the learning program, Cornelia not only gained a deeper understanding of the subjects but also developed valuable time management skills, which proved crucial during the exam. Our son really enjoyed his sessions with Helen. He grew in confidence over the weeks, and despite having no previous experience of Zoom, was soon a happy and active learner in a small class of children supported to increase their skills! Francis loved the little rewards from Helen, especially earning his stickers, and is now a self-confessed algebra expert. The tutoring sessions were really varied, and the homework set was very clear, making it easy for busy Mum and Dad to support between classes. Whatever the outcome of the 11+ examination, Francis will head into Y6 with a renewed love of learning and self-belief which will serve him well for SATs and beyond, and that’s A* to us. Thank you!

We have used A STAR Tuition Group service for the last two years and hope to continue. Our son had a speech delay and wasn't able to use phonics to read. He struggled to read basic words. Helen and her staff's knowledge and enthusiasm helped tremendously with our son's reading problem. She personalised his lessons on areas of study. He got weekly homework.
