Alliance Française is a well organised, professional body providing adult French classes and other activities and workshops. The teachers are well trained, the classes are small, friendly, informal and great fun. It’s an excellent way to learn and improve your French, whatever your level. Lessons are a good mix of conversation, some grammar, current affairs, literature - something for everyone, and each person gets the chance to participate. Definitely the best way to improve your confidence in speaking French.

I have been going to lessons at Alliance Francaise in Exeter for many years. Despite not being a natural linguist I have really enjoyed the classes. The teacher is always well prepared and the syllabus is varied and comprehensive. There is weekly homework which helps to reinforce what is covered in the lesson. Over the years I have met some interesting people and learnt so much more than the French language. A very enriching experience.

I have really enjoyed the French course I have taken with Alliance Francaise at Dartington. The native speaker teacher is excellent and very professional. But there are many other cultural events - a French film club once a month and a French book club as well as workshops. I would thoroughly recommend this for anyone seeking to immerse them selves in the language.

I've been really impressed by the standard of teaching at Alliance Francaise. The class sizes are small, 4-7, which means there is plenty of opportunity to speak and play a part in the group. All the lessons are in French which may seem daunting but the students are taught how to ask questions in French at the start. The classes are made up of recaps from the previous week, topic work (a particular tense or vocab area such as the home), listening, paired exercises and other interactive activities. The lessons are good fun and I look forward to attending each week. There is some homework and a review of this the next week which helps to motivate the students to complete it. I've learnt a huge amount in the 6 months since September.

Approachable and knowledgable teacher who facilitates our group of 6 to improve our French through a variety of topics and tasks. We look at art, travel, culture, film, news and events, following the interests of the class. A really welcoming and encouraging place to improve our French skills alongside others. The best way of learning French that I’ve experienced and I think it’s great value for money! Go on, give it a whirl!

The conversation classes cover really interesting topics that always get a good debate started - the perfect way to learn! The teacher will correct mistakes and bring the group's attention to useful expressions, sentence structure and common grammatical mistakes. The cost is very reasonable for what you get. My French has improved a lot in a short space of time.

The French language classes are of a very high standard; professional, well prepared, challenging and fun. The Alliance also runs a lovely monthly cinema club showing a great variety of modern and classic French language films.
