I went for Katina 2024. It was a great visit and I was welcomed by those I had conversations with.
I met people across the Buddhist faith tradition, where great food was offered to the Bhikkhus and shared by all that attended.

Never been to a more peaceful place. Lovely relaxing monastery, perfect for meditation and calm your mind while praying. Beautiful views too.

A truly exceptional place which mindful people will appreciate. But it's not suitable to people who dislike spirituality or Buddhism or who don't appreciate those who seek a quiet life.

I first came to this monastery over 30 years ago, just after it was set up as one of the first Buddhist monasteries in the UK.

Buddhism is a way of life more than a religion and the 9 monks and nuns living there are a living example of how to live this life. They accept guests but if you're not open to their approach, or sceptical it might bore or annoy you.

But if you like mediatation or want to find out more about Buddhism it is a valuable haven.
