Last meeting was the first F2F in two years. The usual friendly atmosphere, lots of humour and great banter, everyone participating. Great to proudly display our club banner in Bracknell. Then last night we were back on Zoom and were delighted to welcome 5 guests. Again, same friendly atmosphere, interesting speeches and the usual fun impromptu session. Definitely the place for anyone to practice their speaking skills in a safe and friendly environment. Next meeting on 22nd is our contest evening, really looking forward to that.

I joined Ascot & Bracknell Toastmasters 3 years ago to overcome my fear of public speaking, improve my communication skills and expand my professional network.

It took me months to build up the courage to deliver my icebreaker, but once that was over, the feedback I received was absolutely amazing. I couldn't wait for my next speech. My speech by speech improvement was immense, and now it's a pleasure to watch others experience that initial growth phase.

I have now delivered many speeches, held every club meeting role, organised and chaired a contest, served a year as Vice President Education... and now... I'm serving as the Club President!

One of my goals was to look forward to public speaking instead of dreading it, and I'm not far off!

If you have a fear of public speaking, nothing changes unless you make it change.
