Visiting Bampton was on our Wishlist, being Downton Abbey fans. The staff were SO lovely! Found some great souvenirs to take home. They have a great pamphlet with ‘The Downton Mile’ a walking tour map of the Downton Abbey filming spots, worth its money, go get it before you walk through the village. Toilets there too.

Was closed for cleaning but the staff/volunteers let us take a look at the great renovation work upstairs where you have great garden views and the Downton Abbey Memorabilia. Really wonderful and kind people!

Must visit if you are there! Very nice people inside. Have quite a lot of Downton abbey info. Was really nice to have a place to hide inside while it was raining.

I am writing this as a Downton Abbey fan. This is one of the filming locations of the show-specifically the hospital. Anyhow, we were very pleased that there is a small room that is a gift shop for Downton Abbey fans and you can purchase all sorts of memorabilia for a reasonable price. The people in the small shop were very friendly and were full of wonderful information about the show. Highly recommended for Downtown Abbey fans!

Great spot to let the kids out, they are letting children search for ‘mice’ to win a piece of chocolate today. As well as the Library it hosts the Vesey Room commemorating the legacy of the funder of the Grammar School. And the Lewington room upstairs.
