I had a wonderful 2 week experience with Lucy Tilney in Bristol, I was a complete beginner and my English skills improved. Lucy's personalised tuition, our conversations over meals and my total immersion in this beautiful city where there is so much to discover played a key role in my progress. Lucy Tilney cooks really well! A real joy! It was exactly what I needed and I would highly recommend it!

I spent two wonderful weeks with Lucy in Bristol. What to say? I really enjoyed it. Lucy does her work with passion, precision and commitment. Whenever I made a mistake she corrected me explaining the right form.
The house is well maintained and clean as you can see from the photos.
Lucy is also a great chef. Everything she cooks is home-made with genuine ingredients.
I tasted several cuisines such as Thai food, Japanese food and much more.
I went to a Jazz gig with Lucy and her friends and visited Bath.
In conclusion, I think this was a positive experience that I'm going to repeat in the next future. I recommend it!

It has been an excellent experience and I recommend it. The accommodation was very good, I had a large room with a desk where I could study, in a very nice house, close to the docks and very well connected. During my stay I took advantage of the house's location to walk along the docks or go up to the university area.

Lucy's food is exceptional, very varied and thanks to her I have discovered new dishes that we are starting to cook at home.

Thanks to Lucy I have been able to learn everything I need to improve and above all how to improve it. I continued to do some of the methods I used in her classes to learn and improve at home and they work very well.

Speaking and improving my English during meals with her apart from the classes provides an opportunity to immerse myself in a language that is impossible otherwise.

I spent two weeks with Lucy improving my English. I have learnt so much in such a short time. I would highly recommend the experience if you are looking for a deep dive in English language and culture. She is such a warm person and a wonderful cook, we had a great time together. You will love the experience.

My first language immersion experience could not have been better. My two week stay went by very quickly. Lucy is a great professional, with many resources for language teaching. Phonetics and kinaesthesia are tools that I have internalized thanks to her. With a simple gesture I could see what I needed to correct.
As a person she is enthusiastic, cheerful and talkactive. She is a wonderful cook, which is very appreciated.
In short, I was very comfortable with her in her home, I made progress with the language in a very short time and I brought back with me resources and the desire to continue learning. Besides, Bristol is a city that the more you discover it, the more you get caught up in it.
A great choice which I would repeat a thousand times.

I am so happy about the decision I made early on in January this year : to put some time for me and my English , and to go on a one-to-one English course with Lucy Tilney@ Bristol Homestay Tuition . This is the only way to improve your English in a natural and meaningful way . Her language immersion programme makes sure that you live and learn , learn and live –there is no separation between the two : every minute of your stay with Lucy is meant to suit your own language needs – your own , and no one else’s. She is passionate about building a strong working relationship with her clients. Her priority is that her ‘students’ achieve the English language goals they set themselves. Lucy is a great teacher, the classes are well-prepared, structured and varied. She has a lot of learning techniques and methods and knows how to use them in a focused way.
