I settled on Cliff College due to the reasonable price and great proximity to many Peak District attractions such as Bakewell and Curbar Ridge. But that's where the good ends unfortunately. Upon arrival I was mistakenly placed in a solo room, which was promptly sorted out... but the double room wasn't the room I booked and there was a unpleasent, lingering smell. ||Room: The room was fairly spacious. The loo is a bit tight though. The shower was great. The bed didn't feel entirely clean to me. Though the beds were firm, good for me but maybe not to everyone's taste. A final note on the room is that I feel as though a pet may have been kept there, there was a subtle smell of wet dog and a few thick black hairs dotted here and there. ||Breakfast: Their website states "accommodation. Please note that occasionally we are not able to provide a full breakfast service in the refectory; on these occasions, we will provide alternative arrangements for you."||The above would be fine if they put some effort into the alternative arrangements. Day 1 consisted of cold toast, cold croissants and a few other miscellaneous items. Day 2 was worse, I arrived for breakfast to find only two random croissants on a plate. I walked out and handed in my room card.||My limited interactions with staff were pleasant enough and I glad they promptly fixed me up to a double room upon realising their mistake. ||I don't think I'll be staying here again, I know it's a college, but if they are going to take on guests they need to step things up a bit.

We've (me and my husband) just spent 2 nights at Cliff enjoying a personal mini retreat, and couldn't have picked a better venue. A beautiful setting, friendly staff, delicious breakfast, and all the peace and quiet we hoped for. Time spent here is definitely good for the soul, and we will be back!

Very reasonable price for bed & breakfast in a very modern and well maintained building. Easily accessible for those finding steps difficult. Breakfasts were mostly fairly basic but staff could not have been more helpful. All set in wonderful countryside.

Cliff is a brilliant place to live in/study at or visit. It is beautifully situated, staffed by a fantastic team of people and finds the perfect blend of keeping it's historic architecture while keeping up with all the modern technologies.

We stayed, as a group of three, in adjacent rooms at Cliff College. Very comfortable rooms with good facilities and lovely views. Staff were extremely kind and helpful. The cost was extremely reasonable too and we shall certainly choose to stay there again when we are next in the area.

A lovely place to stay for the Breakthru Nazarene church holiday, which I believe Cliff College is a new location for 2023 for the Breakthru holiday, and it is a lovely place and the rooms are really good and the staff have been amazing and I am only halfway through this year's holiday, and I know from yesterday morning that it's not just a Christian retreat and everyone else can pop here for their holiday regardless of if they are a Christian or not, and I would highly recommend this place to stay, to any family or friends 😊🙏
