What a positive experience and a great atmosphere!
Despite being a small town, Coalville has a surprising number of creators, artists, and authors. You might never know this, though, if it weren’t for Coalville CAN, which does an amazing job of supporting and showcasing the creative talents of locals.

It’s an incredible place to visit, offering events throughout the year that cater to all ages. From exhibitions highlighting poetry, art, and local projects, to workshops that span from crafts to creative writing, there’s something for everyone.
It’s a wonderful hub where the community can come together in a safe and welcoming space to learn, create, and network.
Coalville CAN truly fosters a sense of unity and creativity in the area.

I visited here in mid January and was pretty much bowled over.

One of my clients, a local author had booked one of C.A.N's meeting rooms for our InDesign Training session and bowled over is the right word. Before you even get to the meeting rooms you are inundated with terrific artwork everywhere. Absolutely everywhere!

They have so many beautiful things on sale in their shop from sculptures, paintings, books even furniture I think. The decoration and facilities of their meeting rooms are perfect for companies looking to host training, meetings or whatever sessions. They have a great choice of rooms, small and large which are well equipped for working from. C.A.N is pretty much a hassle free environment, they have a good approach to people as can be seen by the provision of parking (there is plenty), lots of light, lots of art and incredibly helpful staff.

I think this is a real gem in the Coalville area and would highly recommend it to local companies looking for a great value, unique and easy venue.

Thank you

Excellent community facility bringing dynamism and hope to the ex-mining communities of Coalville and surrounding villages. Well worth a visit to look at their crafts and exhibitions if you are in the area.

We were invited to play at an event here. The people were all very friendly and the music was excellent! It was a very enjoyable experience. Looking forward to more events by the same organisation.

Community centre coordinating many projects. Building houses local crafts (in foyer) for sale, extensive workshops (craft, self help, guest speakers, business, etc). Some brilliant artwork displays. Mini markets, rooms for hire. Coalville Public Radio (CPR) housed here. Simply excellent. Love the place and ethos.

12:45pm 23rd Jan 2024.
Very poor experience.
Called in at 11:18 to ask if they were holding a job fair today and if so, what time it finishes.
The CAN website had not included it in its "What's On" and a Google search revealed nothing about the event.
I was told the event finished at 1pm.
The woman I spoke to also tried to give me the hard sell in relation to recruiting creative businesses to join their craft business side of things which was not the purpose of my call and felt she would not take no for an answer.
I arrived at 12:45 to be told that the event had "just finished".
This is my first interaction and first time visiting but I'm very put off visiting again!
From this impression it's poorly organised and pushy.
For businesses wishing to attend here as part of a job fair, don't rely on the host advertising the event, you clearly need to market the event yourself to your desired demographic in order to guarantee attendance. If you do, make sure that CAN gives out the correct times for your event to avoid alienating people who have attended only to find that CAN have relayed the wrong information to potential candidates!
