As a hearing person, I found this the most inclusive and empowering course I have yet to attend.

Zahra is not just a good teacher, she's an awesome teacher. She makes learning BSL fun and engaging, teaching us signed for everyday use as well as some grammar. I can't stop talking to anyone and everyone about how great this course is.

I completed the 10-week introduction course in Feb 2025 and hope to enrol on

Learning British Sign Language with Zahra at Deaf Signs has been so much fun and I’ve also met some amazing people on the courses.

I started in February 2022 with a 10-week introduction course and then decided to continue with Level 1 and am currently just about to complete my final exam. Fingers crossed I’ll pass and hope to continue to study Level 2 as I think it is so important to be able to communicate with friends in the deaf community.

I can highly recommend Deaf Signs and Zarah’s classes.

I would highly recommend the BSL Level 1 course for people interested in learning sign language. In the past I’ve done a couple of taster classes at other places, but I find Zahra’s teaching style is the best. Classes are small and friendly which makes it easy to learn. I’ve been learning for about 6 months now and have seen huge improvements in being able to have conversations with my deaf mother-in-law. Hoping to do my Level 2 here next year, as Zahra is an excellent teacher.

I met Zahra in January 2022, and I was amazed at how well we could communicate considering she is deaf and I didn’t know how to sign at all! Fast forward to now, just over a year later I have done an introduction course and my level 1 with her, and I loved every step till now! The classes are fun, I’m always looking forward to going again and learning more, and on top of that Zahra is always, always, always helping us students, encouraging and supporting us! I’m already looking forward to continue learning with DeafSigns for my level 2.
Also, she posts daily on her social media, it’s incredible how well those words stuck with me, 1 sign a day and she makes it so easy to remember them!
