In my view, Edge Hill University offers a beautiful campus with excellent facilities that create a supportive learning environment. The staff are friendly and approachable, and the focus on student success is evident. The library, sports center, and modern accommodations are standout features. However, like any institution, there is room for improvement, particularly in course curriculum. Overall, I believe it’s a great place to study and grow.

Absolute waste of time and money. When my father in law passed during the course, Lynne, the course leader for the PGCE wouldn’t even pick up the phone. I tried repeatedly.

Each week she would stand at the front of the hall and encourage people to reach out if they needed support. Each week she would tell me to call. Each week she failed to pick up.

I ultimately dropped out to support my family, with the university only adding pressure rather than giving support.

To add insult to injury, when I later applied for a non-teaching job and needed to confirm my attendance on this course: the university refused to say that my withdrawal was related to bereavement. No doubt because it interferes with their intended image of being a supportive institution.

Do not waste your time on this place. Go elsewhere.

Edge Hill College opened on 24 January 1885 on Durning Road, Edge Hill, Liverpool, by a group of seven Liverpool businessmen and philanthropists. It was named after the district in which it was sited, It was the first non-denominational teacher training college for women in England. By 1892, Edge Hill was one of only two colleges in England combining teacher training and degree course study. As student numbers increased, Edge Hill quickly outgrew its surroundings. The institution was handed over to the Lancashire Education Committee, with the foundation stone for the present Ormskirk campus laid on 26 October 1931 by J.T. Travis-Clegg, Chairman of Lancashire County Council. The main buildings comprised a main education block, four halls of residence (named Stanley, Clough, Lady Margaret and John Dalton), an Assembly Hall, a library, craft room, gymnasium, lecture theatres, classrooms and a music room.

Just finished my final undergraduate year at this University and I thoroughly enjoy it! Great campus, everything is close together. There's a McColls, Subway and Starbucks on campus too. Great facilities and excellent teaching staff.

Went to an open day with our grand daughter. First impressions were what a lovely place this is and so clean and a sprawling campus. Can't vouch for the academia, but edgehill is certainly in a nice location
