Do not send your children to this school.

My daughter went to London and opted for homestay, hoping there would be some advantage as there was supposed to be dinner as described in the contract.

However, initially an address on Ceres Road was selected, with a tiny room, having to share with another student.

As for the promised food, that lady put about 5 pots of beans and fried egg in the fridge for the whole week, as if my daughter were a pig eating swill.

After that, she stopped providing the washing and my girl and her colleague just didn't go hungry because the family sent money to buy.

The girls were obliged by the lady of the house to pay them for the copy of the keys, for the wi-fi £20 and a few more £ for the use of the bathroom. naively my daughter paid and did not have the amount returned.

The problem was brought to the attention of EF, which did not solve it and did not return the money.

They put her in another house much farther from the school and with lots of residents in the same house, a family with many people living in the same place and even with visits from strangers frequenting the same space.

My daughter was sick and had a high fever for days and no one paid attention to her condition, if it weren't for their own initiative, she would still be very sick

It is absurd to pay too much for such an experience, with non-existent service.

BEWARE, PROSPECTIVE EF Education First HOSTS

What EF Education First says and promises does not hold water.

1. EF Education First took all relevant details which were important to both parties (the host and student)
2. Copies of these documents should have been sent to us after checks and approval. However, never received, despite numerous correspondence, to date)
3. Student arrived before itinerary was received from EF Education First
4. No dedicated official for urgent communications
5. Information provided by EF representative at the time of recruitment turned out completely different to what we had agreed with.
6. Payments were less than half promised by EF representatives during recruitment.
7. Received only £87.50 for full board and lodge, laundry and special diet, per week
8. EF representative recruiter promised that Hosts will receive £120 + £5 laundry + £15 per week.

We were recruited with misleading information, hence that is why we never received copies of our written documents
EF Education First is recruiting unsuspecting hosts under false information.

REVIEWS on EF Education First own website shows that Hosts reported
(30% extremely poor)
(42% good majority from student’s due to great Hosts)
Should have checked before embarking on this venture.

There are better organised and fairer colleges and universities out there
They are far more competent and take recruiting seriously.

Totally inept company, especially when dealing with 'minors.
First the company takes a massive amount of money and does nothing for it once the students have arrived in your home.
You will hear from nearly ALL the students they have to pass lots of exams on their return or they will have to redo the last year... My students were advised a maximum of 3 subjects but it certainly not the case.
As a parent, ask so many question of this so called good company.
Host parents, ask so many questions and if you are mad enough to open your home make sure you keep in the backs of the staff for everything until you get an answer.
