Martine is a fantastic teacher who has given me tailored lessons over a number of years. I have gone from not knowing anything to being able to confidently hold a conversation in french. I thoroughly recommend her lessons.

I've only had a couple of lessons with Martine so far but I've found her very helpful and encouraging. My main objective for my lessons is to speak, speak, speak...more than to go over grammar which I do with an online app. She has sent me articles to read so we have something to talk about although it has been good simply to converse about my own life and experiences and to listen to Martine's experiences too. As it happens, for my next lesson, I've specifically asked if we could practice, through speaking, two particular things and I'm happy that she's going to send me some exercises to have a look at beforehand. I have high hopes for my progress in speaking French with Martine.

Sadly, I've have had to cancel my lessons with Martine due to family difficulties. I hope this is temporary. In the meantime, if you want to be supported learning of French in a professional and encouraging way I really recommend Martine.

I loved my weekly lessons with Martine. We talked about a range of topics and she was happy to go over grammar and phrases when needed. I enjoyed having homework and reading to do, which I think gives a more rounded understanding of the language. Merci Martine!

I started French lessons with Martine three years ago at the beginning of the pandemic and have experienced such a wonderful three years of learning, laughing together and becoming increasingly proficient in French conversations!

Not only are the lessons fun and informative but I have felt really encouraged and supported by Martine to become more confident and fluent in my French speaking and comprehension, and Martine's experience and talent for teaching shines through in this sense. She is clearly invested in her pupils' wellbeing and enjoyment of the lessons, as well as connecting with us on a personal level.

Although I am based in London, Martine has invited me to come stay with her twice in Exeter over the past few years, for two very lovely weekends in which we have enjoyed French food and culture, and spoken in French which is just one example of how far above and beyond Martine goes as an effective and exceptionally kind French teacher! Thank you Martine for the past three years - words can't really sum up how lovely our lessons have been, and how much progress I feel I have made!

I began having lessons with Martine during lockdown and I was very doubtful about my ability to learn a language. How wrong I was! Under Martine’s guidance I was able to write, speak and understand French to a very good level. Not only has my French improved but my English too! As a complete beginner of French I couldn’t of asked for a better teacher then Martine.
