I am taking Maths English and Counselling at Greenheys in Moss Side.
I really didn't know what to expect but I'm happy to say that the courses are very good due to the standard of teaching and the online revision and mock test services provided are better than expected and eliminate the need to buy extra books.

Michael Kebbie (maths) and Shelley Wilkinson (English) are both dynamic and engaging with a solid understanding of how to manage a classroom full of students and Helen Dufton (Counselling) is wise and measured. All teachers have encouraged myself and others when we have struggled on the courses.

I think it's important to feel that you are ready to take on adult education because it can feel challenging at times but with the right teachers it's a whole lot easier.

As for the building. It could really do with modernising.

Teacher was excellent. I enjoyed very much the course and for this reason my scoring is good. Receptionist though, was always rude and very unhelpful. When you do face to face customer service, staff should be either trained to have adequate manners or select qualified personnel.

I didn't like this place at all because I felt the building was very run down for one thing and then I felt the staff messed me around as well.
When I came back in August to see Lorraine to talk about support which I needed for September and unfortunately this didn't happen for me.

Because I felt they should have got my support before I even came back in September so instead they were going to sort it out when I came back.

When I did my English and Math's assessment there they said I was going to have to repeat Entry Level 3 which I already did at North Trafford College.

I was also supposed to be doing Maths on a Wednesday but then they were low on demand on student's so they moved me to a Monday class but I couldn't understand the teacher Abeid that well to be honest.

I felt they messed me around too much and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone at all.

Throughout the couple years I have been part of Greenheys Adult Learning Centre, I have gained a lot of confidence and knowledge.The staff there are very helpful and approachable and are always there if you need any help. I would also like to mention my fantastic, amazing tutor (Charlotte), she has always taught me about everything that I need to know about function skills.
