Staff was so friendly and polite. Atmosphere - nice and cozy. So romantic when getting dark and all lights and candles make mood.
Food is definitely worth the price! We tried scallops, black pudding, venison and steak. It was the best black pudding what I ever had! Seriously 🤤
It was amazing evening.

It was the venue for my sons wedding reception, a place Jr has used many times. After our visit, I could why.
We were a group in the mid 20's by number, and the bride is coeliac to make things even more difficult for the kitchen, but they managed admirably.
The better half and I both agreed it was the best wedding food we had ever had, it was a wonderful experience and we will be back.
The prices are also reasonable for the quality and size of the portions.

This was a very last minute booking but I am so happy with the choice! Amazing staff, gorgeous setting and the food was unreal. You could tell it was all home made... even the ice cream is home made! The mash potato was incredible. Deserves more than 5 stars

Spectacular food and wonderful service. Great attention to detail.

We visited yesterday, called in short advance and booked our table for 2 which they had room for. We are staying at Alton towers overnight and decided to dine here as the reviews at the restaurants on site are poor.

We were asked on the phone if we had any allergies or dietary requirements and there was a high level of attention paid to the one allergy our party had despite it being outside of the typical.

I'm so thankful we made the decision to come here. Worth the drive out. The food was absolutely amazing and we couldn't fault it.

We ordered scallops and arancini for starters which were both really good, great taste and presentation and the scallops were cooked as requested. They're sliced quite thin but you get a nice amount. The arancini were a good size too.

We had the lamb rump (ordered pink but the option for well done) and the stone bass for mains. Both proteins cooked perfectly and with really well done accompaniments which added to the dish. We also had a side of cheddar mash and seasonal veg and requested a portion of extra gravy.

All the food was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The addition of fennel was really nice and all the flavours worked in harmony. The fish dish was quite buttery and had a perfect level of citrus to cut through the richness.

The service was wonderful and the staff were knowledgeable and polite. There was a wide selection of specials from skate wings, duo of pork, Cornish crab to share, and lobster thermidor to name a few and it's really refreshing to see specials be interesting additions rather than using up waste.

Would 100% recommend if you're local to the area or just visiting. Definitely made the meal one to remember

Had a fantastic meal for my wife's birthday. The Menu Choices was great, but we chose off the Specials. The food was delicious, really friendly and helpful staff, plus a lovely decorated room.
We will be back, especially for their Christmas Menu (13/11 until 21/12)

So pleased to happen upon this hidden gem! Meals were above expectations, beautifully balanced tastes and immaculate presentation. Even children’s nuggets and chips were made from real chicken breast in freshly made light and fluffy batter. All perfectly rounded off by excellent table service. What a team!
