I wish I had learnt English with a teacher like Vincent when I started studying English. Vincent is a teacher who is both benevolent and demanding. His classes are exciting and perfectly suited to my profile. Each lesson is personalized according to my interests and my professional activity. Thanks to Vincent's efficiency, speaking in English is no longer a problem for me.

I’m a Phd Student and I have been doing English classes with Vincent since 2020. I wanted to start English lessons as I needed to improve:
i) My writing skills: I knew at the start of my Phd that I would have to write a lot in English so as to present my work, write papers, …
ii) My speaking skills: I’m doing a Phd in collaboration with a company where a large part of my colleagues are non-french speakers. All meeting, presentations are consequently done in English.
For these two main reasons, I wanted to start individual English classes with Vincent.

What really strikes me with Vincent is his capacity to make you want to speak. Each class starts with a couple of minutes of chit-chat. It might look silly, but this really has help me to be more confident about speaking, how to express my feelings, what I have done during the week, my research work, gossip etc..
A second point that I really enjoy with Vincent is that he he has knew to find a really good balance between the different areas that I have to improve and he always adapts his classes to subjects that I have an interest in.
Finally, if I had to cite a last point, it would be that, as Vincent does not speak French, I have to find ways to say something even if I do not always have all the English words. During our first lessons, it was challenging for me and I think even more for Vincent to understand me ! But I think it is why I have learnt so much with our lessons.

The lesson that struck me the most is the lesson about the Churchill speech in front of the parliament during WWII. The subject of this lesson was to listen to the Churchill speech and understand why it marked the parliament and changed the way of history. Was it his intonation ? the words that he used ? the figure of speeches ? It was really relevant to work on this speech and make the link with presentations that I make in my company/during my phd. How can I make my presentation clear, help the audience to follow my point, highlight the key information, etc..

To sum up, I would just say that I have made a lot of progress in English since I started my lesson with Vincent. Of course It requires a time investment, continuously reviewing the past lessons is important and I have the chance to practice English every day with my work. Like many French people, I was really angry with English before, but I really grasp the nettle and I can say that we are pretty much on good terms now !
