My husband and I started learning Spanish online with Javier in November 2023, as we planned to move to a small village in Andalusia in 2024.
Right from the off-set Javier made the lessons informative, enjoyable and fun. The lessons fly by and we learnt far more with Javier in a few lessons compared to the 3 years we had done using a well known language app.
We now live in Spain, but continue to have online lessons with Javier, where he has tailored his lessons to suit our day to day needs. I cannot recommend Javier enough, his lessons are always 5 estrellas.

Since my knowledge of grammar is less than my teacher colleagues, whilst finding the Imperfect Subjunctive etc a real brain-teaze, Javier is always patient, methodical and clear and always happy to mark any homework with much encouragement.

Javi has been teaching me Spanish for 5 years. First as a beginner in a group and from 2020 individually. His lessons are a mixture of grammar, conversation & discussion of current affairs.
He is very skilled in explaining complex Spanish grammar and is always able to adjust to my level of understanding. He has endless patience and a great sense of humour which means that lessons are always fun. My Spanish has improved significantly and I am now able to hold a conversation when I’m in Spain.
Javi is a very conscientious teacher. He always sends me notes on the lesson and marks homework promptly.

Javier is an excellent Spanish teacher. I am a confident Spanish speaker but he still manages to keep me on my toes in the advanced class! The class content is always fascinating, varied, subversive and suitably challenging. For example recent courses have been on the many routes of migration to Latin America and another on women of the Conquista. There is always room for lively discussion in the friendly community of learners that Javi has brought together. I look forward to attending more. Muchas gracias Javier!

Javi is a fantastic teacher - I started with him in group clases about 4 years ago and, having tried a few different teachers, quickly switched over to one to one lessons after seeing how well he taught. I teach English as a foreign language and so can see how well he tailors the clases to get the best from you and how superbly he understands and explains Spanish grammar. His lessons and always fun and interesting and his patience and enthusiasm is never faulting. I couldn't recommend him more!

Starting to learn Spanish or taking your Spanish skills to the next level is not easy but it becomes a lot easier when you really find learning fun. Javier is superb at making classes enjoyable and something to look forward to. I'll never forget my first class and learning about the small but incredibly important difference between the words 'año' and 'ano' and the need to pronounce the former properly to avoid unfortunate misunderstandings when asking ¿cuántos años tienes?

The emphasis on fun doesn't mean he won't push you to get the best out of yourself - he will. He does great preparation for classes in order to challenge you - and if challenging yourself ever makes you want to scream or give up for the day, I am sure he will be as patient, jovial and supportive as he always was with me.

I have no hesitation in recommending Javier whether you are a complete beginner or eager to take your Spanish to new heights.

I was going to get married to the love of my life in Argentina and was desperate to be able to do a speech in Spanish. My dream was to be able to speak fluently with her friends and family there, but it just seemed way off, i tried various teachers but it didn’t seem to quite get me to where i wanted to be, i was really frustrated.

I then found Javi, he changed everything for me, we had weekly classes and not only was I able to do my speech in Spanish, I was also finally able to have conversations with my wife’s friends without her having to translate.

Five years later, I continue to take classes with him. They are always so much fun and for an hour and a half every week my life's worries are forgotten! He understands how i learn and what motivates me and most important of all, he believes in me.

Now i speak fluent Spanish and i really feel it wouldn’t have been possible without him. It has changed my life!! Thanks Javi!!
