I’ve been learning mandarin here for the past month, the teachers are fantastic. I would highly recommend that you choose to learn with kings, I’ve learnt so much in just 6 weeks with my teacher and my class mates are lovely. We’re alll of different ages and the class is always informative.

Although they claim to teach with modern methods, my experience was the opposite. Poor support, and poor teaching. Focus is on passing modules, not language learning.

I applied to take a course as a student, filling out the online form and receiving an email saying they'd aim to respond within 3 days. I heard nothing for weeks, despite sending repeated emails and contacting various people within the language school to try and fix the issue before it was too late. I ended up going into the public facing office three or four times over a month (being told each time to wait patiently and that there was nothing they could do to contact the people processing the applications), as well as the internal language centre (downstairs in the Strand Building) on two different occasions. After a month (4 weeks into the academic year) I finally got a response, which said that I wasn't enrolled in any of the courses. My application appeared to somehow have been lost...
I'm sure the instructors are great, but the administration is too unreliable.
I really wouldn't want to risk giving them my money.

The language teachers are excellent! I am enjoying my Russian classes with Lyudmila so much, she is absolutely lovely in giving a true insight of the Russian culture. Tanya as well as the other staff are also fantastic teachers in this department!

I am giving a low rating because of the poor administrative side of the centre. On multiple occasions, I have been waiting for responses from emails for a very long time. Not only that, when I knocked on their door on one of my first days this year, I was met with a staff member who just told me that it was closed in a cold demeanour without elaborating. Now as of July 2022, I have sent emails regarding my student records and the inability to see my language grade. I am waiting over 10 days now to receive a grade and the initial email I got was extremely unhelpful and as if not read by the person. It is very frustrating and unfortunately most of the other administration at the university is this bad.

I needed a transcript from my post graduate French course in 1998. I filled the online form and receiving an email saying they'd aim to respond within 3 days. Since 8 Nov it is 8 Dec now I have over 10 do not reply emails and when you ring student services there is no answer. Language centre says it is open Mon to Fri but just a recorded message. It is a nightmare trying to find anyone who will answer the phone or help. A month now I am waiting, I need the transcript so that I can have my qualification recognised in Austria where I now live . This is affecting what job I can get. Kings College should have a simple paid service as do other universities rather than a free one which nobody is served by. Nightmare!

Took two language courses @ three different levels. All teachers were wonderful. I have always had a problem with admin / management - not reliable & keep cancelling parts 2&3 of intensive courses which beats the purpose of taking part 1 in the first place.

After finishing level 1 part 1 in Spanish I can say I feel quite motivated with the course. I really recommend this program to those who really want to learn a foreign language. Teachers are native and knowledgeable and the lessons are quite interesting and fun. As my teacher says: "It is possible to learn while having a good time. Learning is not synonymous with seriousness". I totally agree with her. Im also thinking about getting some free Spanish speaking practise that Kings offers to us. Thanx for that. The only thing that I would try to fix is Keats.

Currently studying here - I LOVE my teacher and cannot wait to complete all five levels. The timing options are quite limiting but so far I am really enjoying myself (starting level 2 out of 5).
