I’ve had quite a few English teachers during my learning journey, but I can say that lessons with Patrick from Lexicon have made the biggest impact. Not only did my English skills improve, but I also gained a lot of confidence in speaking, all within just a few months. Improving my English language skills is a rewarding journey. The amazing instructors from Lexicon helped me and my class along the way.
With the support of my instructors, I practiced speaking, comprehension, reading, and writing. Consistency was the key, and I was able to expand my vocabulary in a meaningful way.
The focus of the course was on English lessons with technological topics - in my case, software security services. This has tremendously enhanced my confidence during meetings at work. The instructors were great, with a personal approach to every student. Depending on our job roles, we tackled specific professional situations and learned the language through plenty of conversations.
Moreover, I would like to highlight the opportunity to speak with native speakers. This improved my fluency and pronunciation. Being with other employees from my company, but from different departments, provided structured learning and social interaction, which was a truly enriching experience.
While we worked on improving our grammar, we also participated in a lot of soft skills training, such as workshops on assertive communication and conflict resolution. The learning process was a lot of fun, and I made friends within the class. My specific goal was to improve my conversational skills and understand particular topics. My employer already offered online English courses years ago, but most of them were characterised by constantly changing teachers rather than individual teaching materials and company-related cases. That's why I was sceptical at first when my employer announced that the English courses were being relaunched.
Of course, it's always up to the student how much progress he or she makes. And I have to be honest here, I don't take much time to improve my English outside of the English course, as time is very limited in addition to my daily tasks. That's why it's even more important for me to take part in the courses with Lexicon, because they're fun and educational, but above all they're individually organised and - in contrast to the previous English courses - you have cases that are as role-specific as possible.
The USP here is that the instructors has extensive knowledge of the industry, which enables them to focus on the deficits of each individual student. In conclusion, I really appreciate the relaxed atmosphere in class, as I usually don't like speaking in English, even if it's less bad than I judge myself to be.
