I started with Lively Languages a year ago in preparation for a long stay in France
It has really helped me improve my French - there's no substitute for actually speaking. The conversations provided are great if you're a bit lacking in confidence in your speaking. But if you like, you can change the conversation. So you can be at the level you feel comfortable with. Its been really invaluable and well worth the very small monthly subscription. Have made some new friends too

It is always a pleasure to chatter away with like minded folk. Who want to learn and improve their French. I came to it as a true beginner. Only knowing a few phases. Not having learnt it at school even. So it was really encouraging to have our tutor Angela to put me at my ease. Both online and face to face. Everyone is welcoming and supportive. I have been doing conversational French and French Grammar for 2 years, not only has my French improved massively but I have thoroughly enjoyed it and met some great distant friends through doing it.
The hosts/ teachers are very supportive and helpful , it’s suitable for beginners through to fluent speaking people. All the group members work together to help each other to improve our understanding and conversational abilities

A brilliant way to boost your conversational French . Angela is so encouraging and creates a friendly, no pressure learning environment . 2 half hour guided conversations per class , and lots of opportunity to get to grips with everyday French phrases. Plus no weekly class commitment - just let Angela know you are attending the day before. After taking lots of French grammar classes this way of learning in a small friendly, supportive group has really helped my French. Highly recommended.

My wife has been learning french with Lively Languages for seven years and has enjoyed every minute of it.
Not only has she become proficient in the language, which helps us when we holiday in France, it's also about the friendships that has formed within the group. There have been a number of social events and Angela is a superb organiser and teacher.
There is always something new to learn and we have a good pre session chat and laugh.

Sessions at Lively Languages are thoroughly enjoyable every week: they are varied, informative and certainly lively! Angela leads the sessions with patience and skill. I joined the Spanish sessions on Zoom in 2020 and have met and chatted with many interesting people, young and not-so-young (myself in this category!), from beginners to advanced, even native speakers. I look forward to continuing and enjoying every session.

The French lessons with Lively Languages are great, everyone is very helpful and the students accept new people easily. The lessons are based firstly to be fun but also educational, I have learned so much more vocabulary with this group than with any other that I have joined. I am having a break at the moment but I will be back with them very soon
