Beautiful piece of history, stunning building, and interior.

The great thing about London is its history.

It has a dark past, wealth built on slavery, death, and destruction.

You can still have an appreciation of the architecture as long as you understand the cost in human souls that it took to build.

The house and office of the lord Major of the City of London (dont mistake with the Major of London) a role that changes yearly with a big parade in November. The Lord Major represents, supports and promotes the businesses and residents in the City. The Mansion House has the Harold Samuel Collection of Dutch and Flemish Seventeenth Century Paintings, one of the finest collections of this type in Britain. The place is not generally open to the public apart from Tuesdays at 2pm. You need to book the ticket online as they dont sell tickets on the door.

The 696th Lord Mayor's show 2024 , great to be here to see the show, and what a show .The longest, unrehearsed event in the world , the new Lord Mayor's first full day in the office.

I have walked past this building so many times and I always wondered what it looked like inside, so when an opportunity came along I booked myself a tour. I'm so glad that I did, as the building is so beautiful with the Egyptian hall, and the Salon with a stunning crystal chandeliers, which it was the highlight of the tour. I would recommend for everyone to visit as the unique Grade 1 listed building it has a lot of unusual features and a great history. The Harold Samuel art collection it was a bonus to see all 84 paintings.

Official home of the Lord Mayor of the City of London, this palacial facade is often overlooked by the workers and visitors as it stands on a very busy main road. From above it is equally as majestic as from street level.

We were on an organised visit to see the extensive Harold Samuel art collection of 17th century Dutch paintings . Excellent.
The guide was well informed and entertaining
We also saw many of the public rooms which are well worth viewing.
Would recommend a visit to both the art collection and the building itself .
