We stayed in the Darwin Retreat. This Place. WOW. It is on the pricey side but well well worth it. If you want to just get away from life as we wanted to do as a couple North Lakes is perfect for this.|The whole lodge is huge. The tv outside with the hot tub was nice and the fairy lights in the roof above the hot tub a lovely touch.|The bathroom is as big as the lounge/kitchen area and my partner had to climb onto the bed it is that big. |There is parking right outside the door and has lovely views. Very very peaceful. We will defo be coming back next year 😀

We have just come back from our stay in a Wellington Lodge and we had the best time. The hot tub was lovely to come back to after a day of walking and it was checked/maintained daily. The lodge was lovely and clean and very private with no other lodges over looking. We didn't want to leave and I'm sure we will be back.

Wow!! Stunning!! Complete privacy and just the tonic after a few stressful, super busy weeks at work for us both. Watching movies in the hot tub under the stars was fantastic. Cannot recommend highly enough - we absolutely loved our weekend and will definitely be back! X

We had a fantastic few days staying in these very modern and well appointed lodges in beautiful and secluded grounds. The spa treatment was excellent. We enjoyed dinner in the restaurant last night and the best Sunday lunch ever where the food was exceptional and the staff unfailingly friendly and helpful. And the farm shop is excellent with local meat and homemade pies.

Stayed in Wordsworth 7 lodge which is in the perfect location on the park with lovely views. ||It was modern and clean with a spacious open plan living, dining and kitchen area. If you’ll be cooking meals, the fridge freezer fits a lot in and there’s plenty work top space for preparing food. ||Both double bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. The beds are really comfortable. Toilet seats not so much - they’re square :)||Each bathroom has a door that opens out on to the very private covered hot tub area, which is great. The hot tub set up is the best we’ve ever had when staying in a lodge. Absolutely loved it! ||There’s a small lake on-site which you can see from the lodge and you can walk to it within minutes. Lots of grass and trees, ducks on the lake, birds flying around and there’s a golf course with a stone circle. There’s a bar/restaurant/small shop. The whole area is lovely and very quiet. A great place to stay to spend time with people and chill out.||I would’ve given 5 stars but we had an issue throughout the stay - the master bedroom smelled of a cross between wet dog, blocked drains and sewage. There was a ‘damp’ smell when we arrived and it got really bad after a couple of days. We reported it and someone came to pour stuff down the plug holes but it didn’t get rid of it. If the bedroom door was left open, the whole lodge stank really bad. We were told to keep a window open, which we did but it didn’t help much. It went through periods of being ‘not too bad’ to ‘has something died in here?’. There’s a review from January 2023 that raises the same issue with this lodge, so maybe it’s a plumbing problem. Not what you’d expect from such an otherwise lovely place. We still had a fantastic time but putting up with that smell definitely took the shine off our stay.

Despite asking for advice re a RED weather warning in Scotland, we were encouraged to make our journey to Landal North Lakes Lodges in Cumbria. Initially we were told our booking could be moved to another date but then this was not offered.||After an extremely dangerous and stressful journey, we were told that it was unsafe to use our hot tub and had to endure a power cut the following evening which lasted at least 16.5 hours (at which point we decided to leave early). We were left for 16.5 hours without hot water, heating, light sources and had to bin food/replace food. Whilst I am aware that power cuts can happen at any time, we were left to our own devices with zero support from the park owners. We ended up leaving after being freezing for 16.5 hours with no food or heat sources.||When we reached out to Landal we were offered a 30% refund which in no way reflects the horrendous time we had. Despite numerous attempts to get them to reconsider their offer of compensation, we have been left ignored.

We had Wellington 15. From the lovely welcome to the visit to the butchers and despite a technical glitch (power cut) this was a great break.|Every detail was catered for.|Welcome back - the bread was gorgeous.|Hot Tub was totally private but with stunning views.|Blu ray and Smart TV kept us entertained.|Keswick just 25 mins away with the market (Thursday) and Derwentwater was a million times better than Windermere.|Every kitchen gadget you could ever need. Dishwasher, washer/dryer - hairdryer all top quality I can imagine this would be great for a family break.|Take insect repellent!|Don’t miss the Home Farm butchers - great local produce.|You can’t get breakfast on site but with the butcher you can do it yourself!|We loved it and have booked again for next spring
