I cannot recommend this college to disabled students. Please do not study here. It is dangerously ignorant, unhelpful and breaks the law by introducing insurmountable barriers.

First course was fine. I am disabled so stayed residentially as I have a lot of pain, cannot use public transport as I do not have a powerchair, and can not afford the taxis to commute each day. I worked out a plan to get an education here, but before my second course they refused my application for accommodation in contravention of their own policy on disability and the Equality Act. Then refused to engage with my official complaint.

Now I have no future. Also, they sent me the letter ignoring my complaint three days before Christmas. I nearly ended it. I still might, as I have no alternative for study.

Amazing place, the grounds are beautiful. The historic building is beautiful. Wonderful place to visit. The college is brilliant, even for short courses & there cheap or free, including the stay. The tutors are brilliant & entertaining & all the staff are friendly. Highly recommend a visit here. You can also take kids up to a certain age as they have free childcare. Loved every minute of our visit.

Beautiful place, lovely accommodation although very basic, Beautiful grounds and some great course, canteen food nothing to shout about, bland tasteless and spoilt the stay.

I’m absolutely loving learning at northern college. So many different courses to choose from and the surroundings are beautiful as well.

Students beware. Problems with staffing = student assessments/course materials not being taught/marked/assessed correctly in accordance with qualification guidelines. Students risk wasting personal time and effort completing assignments for them not to achieve qualification status because of inadequate teaching delivery.
