My daughter has come on leaps and bounds since being tutored at Northern Sky. We found Mel via a recommendation and I’m so glad we did. She and her colleague Wendy have taken Anna from a struggling student to a top set English student! I can’t believe her progress and confidence! Anna was so under confident in a school setting so we set about putting in a plan for her to be home schooled from the centre in Clitheroe. She’s now back in a school setting and is so much happier. I will still use Northern Sky to keep a check on her progress. Such lovely people too!

Northern Sky Education have been absolutely fantastic for our child, I cannot recommend them enough! From November in year 11, they turned our dyslexic child’s English language result from a 3 to a 6. We were totally over the moon and Melanie even helped us with choosing which paper to remark (as they were only 1 mark off a 7) for free, when school wouldn’t look at it. Melanie went over and above for our child and they now have so many more future options as a result of her hard work.

I cannot recommend Mel highly enough. Working with my son for his GCSE English language resit, she has gone above and beyond, in a very short space of time, to build his confidence and teach him strategies on how to to approach the exam. My son is dyslexic and does not enjoy English but Mel engaged him from day one and he reports that he's learnt more in the last month than he has in 5 years of high school! I would not hesitate to recommend Mel: she is very approachable, professional and passionate about helping her students.

Northern Sky Education helped my daughter with additional a-level English Literature tuition. Mel was able to compliment the work being carried in the classroom to provide a higher level of understanding. Given Mel's many years of experience in teaching, lessons were kept informal and relaxed giving my daughter the confidence to ask for help in the areas where it was required.

I went to Mel after she was recommended by a friend. She immediately understood what I needed support with and she developed a learning plan just for me. I needed to pass the ILETS exam in order to apply for a visa for Australia. Mel was patient and encouraging and I was successful in passing the test; I don’t think I could have done it without her help. Thanks Mel.

We got to know Melanie during Covid when she kindly offered free lessons and we have stayed on with her since then. She is an absolutely fantastic English teacher who has supported my daughter since yr 7 and gradually built her skills and confidence with the subject. I would highly recommend her to anyone out there looking for a good English teacher for their children.
