We have just had a long weekend at Northolme whilst we celebrated our wedding. There was a total of 18 of us and we all had the best time. The house is beautiful and so are the grounds.
When we arrived we were greeted and shown around.
The pool is so nice and feels so luxurious. There is so much to do here and the kids were amazed when they found a secret hidden play room. There is so much to keep children entertained from a play park, tennis courts, a massive play house and tonnes of toys and games inside too. All the adults enjoyed the nice relaxing quiet grounds, pool table and huge rooms.
We would highly recommend to anyone.

A very large group of us have just returned from having an absolutely wonderful weekend at Northolme. We cannot speak highly enough of this beautiful property. We had a very large group and there was so much space for all of us to live comfortably. The bedrooms are all very spacious, plenty of room for all of your stuff, the beds were really comfortable resulting in 3 great nights sleep by many of us. The house was immaculate on arrival and we left the house in the same condition we found it, resulting in our damage deposit being returned the same day! Liz, the property owner was a pleasure to work with, she made everything so easy, gave us lots of guidance and top professional service. We needed a battery replacing in a fire alarm and the maintenance man arrived within the hour to sort this for us! Top service.
The location of the house is incredible, we all went to the beach on Saturday and it was around a 10 minute drive, we walked to a local pub on for a Sunday dinner which was lovely, the Wool Pack pub sectioned off a full room for our large group which was perfect!
At the house we spent many hours in the pool which is so perfect, the room feels really warm when you first walk in but we realized that when you get out of the pool, you don't have that moment when you feel really cold, so the room to pool temperature balance is top notch. I cannot recommended this property enough. We had children within our group and they really loved it, the pool, the dolls house, the play ground and the "secret room" were all a big hit with the kids. We are already planning our next trip to Northolme. We would like to thank Liz for being the perfect host. If your looking for a few days away to enjoy a special occasion with friends and family, somewhere with plenty to do, in a great location, immaculately clean, lots of history, perfect grounds and amenities with a great host then look no further than Northolme Hall. Highly recommended and we cant wait to come back!

This house is fab full of history. It’s an old house and a bit quirky too. Swimming pool is a nice size and lovely temperature well kept. Tennis courts are a bonus if you like doing a bit more excercise while away. The garden is a really nice sun trap. Some wildlife in the garden if your quick enough to spot. Shops and beach only 5 miles away too. I find the owners do a grand job running this house as it must be a lot of work when cleaning and maintenance. Always very professional whenever I have dealt with them.

This place is incredible! Absolutely beautiful, spotless, spacious house. 3 days of swimming & lovely gardens to enjoy. Liz the host was very nice and helpful. Northolme Hall is the most stunning period country house. Highly recommend. Will definitely be returning!

Very nice house and cottage. The main house can sleep 16 and the cottage can sleep 5. Lovely indoor pool and well kept secluded grounds. Found a deer wondering the grounds this morning. Lots to do and see. Tennis courts, table tennis, children’s play area.

This is a beautiful place to stay. The hosts have put a lot of thought into ensuring that whilst it maintains the grandeur of a period property, Northolme still feels homely and inviting.

We found everywhere to be spotlessly clean and the facilities on offer within the house and grounds are fantastic.

My family and I have stayed here more than once and would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a special venue to stay with extended family or a group of friends

What an amazing house. The stay was joyful. Few problems occured during the visit. Pool temp was great on the Fri and Saturday and seemed to deteriorate on the Sunday and the smell of chlorine smelt more throughout the house. And 90% of the guests have developed a cough. The dishwasher did not work from our arrival and washing up for 20 people was a task. Also the washing machine and tumble dryer where obviously poorly maintained as they did not work to full capacity for the whole stay and considering the pool was in constant use it would have been needed.

The house itself is lovely, however the Main rooms do not lend themselves to a Manor House. The rooms are very small, which meant our socialising had to be kept to the kitchen and breakfast room. There was no large drawing room, or really anything that made the house feel old. Their system wouldn’t allow us to connect to the Wi-Fi which made things very difficult. The house was way too warm, and whilst we managed to turn the heating off downstairs, there was no way to turn the heating off upstairs. Our guests upstairs had sleepless nights with radiators making noises and the heat stifling them, most of the windows would not open which made things extremely uncomfortable.
If you visit this house you should do so knowing you will sweat constantly and this is not the sort of place you venture outside the grounds for safety reasons. The main Pub in the village is full of weird people and not the sort to mix with when you hire a Manor House.
