Rubens is a great teacher. He is structured, diligent, patient, cares about his students and above all makes it fun! I would recommend Rubens to anyone looking to learn, improve or simply practice Portuguese. Regardless of whether you’re a beginner or improver he starts with grammar boot camp to ensure the baseline is solid then adapts the content of the lessons to your level, mixing conversation and grammar clinics. I’ve been a regular student for a while now and I look forward to my weekly lessons / conversation.

Rubens is the best teacher ever - FACT! He always goes at the right pace and is great at pushing you beyond your comfort zone which is super important. Also is just an all around great guy and a pleasure learning Portuguese with him - even after stressful days at work (sorry Rubens!!!). Highly recommended, really worth it.

I've been learning Portuguese from scratch with Rubens for almost 2 years and I feel very lucky to have found such a great teacher. His approach is methodical and fun and we quickly progressed from grammar to conversation making it useful for actually communicating about day to day things.
