Edit. Are you a parent of a 18yrs old who wants to study more for something other than a practical, hands-on job? Make her a favour and persuade to apply for university and even help with the costs if you can.
Are you a working person thinking to do a part time course? Think it twice, check online courses first. Get assurances about the planning.
College needs heavy investment especially in IT. Huge college, many advanced rooms that not everyone has access to. Common PCs at the library are very outdated and we have to sit exams on ancient computers with small monitors and uncomfortable desks and chairs. The library is reasonably poor for a college. Organisation wise it's not much better. Too many employees sending you to one another, not very helpful, everyone seems to only know/interested in their small part. During the summer they are going to call and email you everyday until you register but when the course starts even when showing up in the reception they are not very happy to assist you. Bouncer looking security guards are looking at you as you enter as a potential criminal. I don't know if they had any issues in the past and what they are afraid of?
Classes being cancelled at the last minute without excuse or replacement etc. Hard to attend if you have a job better to find a good live online provider. There are some very nice people there too but I can't judge their teaching skills. At least everyone (reception being the least) is willing to help you find a way out or a classroom.
Most of the building is in good condition, warm and clean classrooms etc. You can get lost quite easily, elevators and stairs that stop to a certain floor and some floors are not connected to others etc. I don't know what could happen in an emergency especially as the college is so overcrowded. I hope they showed full time students emergency exits etc because they haven't showed anything to me. Thankfully there are many doors to go out although you may have to go through many floors of stairs or always overcrowded elevators.
Possibly the college is overcrowded this year so their focus is in some subjects and not in others.
