For my husbands birthday I got him the French cooking class at Simply French Yorkshire and we made the Tarte aux framboises et aux amandes. We didn't know what to expect but we had a fantastic Saturday learning French, the activities that Ann had for us to do were brilliant and she was so warm and welcoming. The session was completely personalised to us and how much French we knew. I found it much easier to learn French whilst doing something practical and the phrases are ones I would use in the future, unlike some of the phrases you learn on apps. Ann sent us a recording after the session as well which we listened to before our Christmas in France. We cooked the tarte again (using the French recipe) for Ben's family in France for Christmas pudding and everyone LOVED it!

We have told lots of people about our amazing experience learning French with Ann - we highly recommend!

What a fabulous experience! We spent a morning at Ann's learning French and also making some delicious tartes - we also learned a lot of new cooking skills! Ann is warm and kind and a terrific teacher - she immediately put us at ease and made us feel at home. One of us is more advanced in French than the other but she was adept at teaching us both, each at our own level. We ate some of the tarte for lunch with my mother later in the day - absolutely delicious. We're delighted we did this course and it's made us want to study more French. Merci beaucoup Ann!

Brilliant time had by everyone. Ann is a lovley, engaging and fun person, her knowledge and the way in which she teaches is second to non and she made everything easy and engaged with everyone as a group and separately.

Went away feeling like comfortable, and happy. Would recommend this to everyone!!

We had a great morning with Ann baking Madeleines and learning French for our Valentine's treat.?
Ann was warm, welcoming and we relaxed quickly into the session.
Every question was answered with patience,the Madeleines turned out perfectly and we were really pleased to have notes/recordings to use after.
Highly recommend & we look forward to returning for our anniversary

This was a fantastic experience. Not only did I learn how to make some tartlettes au citron but so much French for the ingredients and utensils we used. Ann was an excellent tutor and patient with a novice.

My youngest daughter bought me a cookery session with Ann for my birthday. An exceptional experience! Whatever your level in French I would highly recommend spending some time with Ann developing both your linguistic and also culinary skills. It really was a case of learning by doing and Ann is an excellent and highly experienced teacher. I can't recommend Simply French Yorkshire enough. Un grand merci Ann. À la prochaine.

I had 10 one-to-one online lessons with Ann starting late February 2023 and we had our 10th lesson yesterday. My learning need was to gain confidence in speaking French as well as using and improving on what I've already learned (- it's really different speaking out loud and being in a conversation with someone compared to just talking to yourself in French!). I immensely enjoyed all my lessons with Ann. We agreed at the start that we won't use books, but instead she will teach and correct me as we go along. She has structured our lessons really well, and it just felt like catching up with a good friend. For example, she asked me to send her photos, and we used them as talking points. The recordings, lesson notes and weekly homework also helped. I really felt my confidence grow after each lesson, and I am thankful I found Ann's website and booked French conversation lessons with her. I cannot yet speak French without stumbling on a few grammar rules, vocabulary and pronunciation, but I'm definitely much better at speaking French than I was when I started. Thank you very much, Ann! I will miss our lessons and conversations!

I have been going to Ann's lessons for a year now. She makes them fun and very informative. The small group is friendly and relaxed. Ann has a knack of making you work hard without even realising it! Lots of different tasks of speaking, reading, listening and short videos, some writing and no formal grammar lessons! Ann corrects gently and informatively so you never feel daft and are encouraged to have a go, even if it is completely incorrect. Because of this I know that my confidence to speak French when in France has really improved. On more than one occasion this has been complimented and this never happened before going to Ann. I would recommend Simply French to anyone, whatever your current ability you will improve.
