I recently completed a Spanish Homestay Immersion with Spanish Express, and it was an unforgettable experience. I spent one week in Valencia with Pilar, where I learned Spanish alongside Christine from the U.S. We enjoyed lessons on Pilar's terraces, explored Valencia’s historic center and the Albufera, and savored authentic paella.

The next three weeks were in Barcelona with Mónica, her parents, and their two Golden Retrievers. My lessons combined formal sessions and on-the-go learning as we visited iconic sites like the Sagrada Familia, Parc Güell, and Casa Milà. We used workbooks and played Spanish games, making learning both fun and immersive. The experience culminated in a surprise flamenco show arranged by Mónica.

This program greatly improved my Spanish and deepened my understanding of Spanish culture, history, and gastronomy. It was an enriching experience that I’ll treasure as I continue my studies. A heartfelt thank you to Mónica and Pilar for making this journey so special.

This was such a great experience for me. The week for me flew by so fast I couldn’t believe when it ended. The experience is very personalized. Pilar asked me what I would like to work on and I told her I needed work on listening and speaking. So we did a lot of conversations. We also did some grammar during our daily classes. We did some excursions into Valencia. Which was very exciting to be with a native to learn the local history. The food was fantastic. Paella day was super exciting for me. I loved to see how they made typical paella outside. If you are looking at doing this program don’t hesitate. Just do it. Highly recommend. I added a picture from the boat ride near the rice paddies and paella.

An excellent experience with a warm and welcoming family. A very well structured learning experience which really kick started my Spanish. I achieved everything I had hoped for and more. Pilar and her daughter mede me very welcome and went out of their way to ensure I had the very best time both in the classroom and when relaxing. I couldn't recommend them enough.

My son stayed with Pilar in Valencia last October for a week for an immersive home stay course. He had the best time. Pilar was an excellent host and was warm and welcoming. It was my sons first time from home but he felt right at home immediately. His lessons were great and he was also taken to the local sights and places of interest during rests from tutoring. He will forever have fond memories of his time in Valencia and we are very grateful for the care and attention he was given by Pilar - highly recommend. (my son is 15yrs old)

This course was an incredible experience! Pilar is such a kind and lovely person and cooks very well.
She’s caring and always available for everyone.
I never got bored during these three weeks and the company of her son Max, her daughter Esmeralda and Ardi was special.
I will never forget this experience.
The place was beautiful and the people were very friendly.
Just a little remark, for three weeks of classes, I find the price a little excessive and not everyone is willing to spend that much.

My Spanish Express experience in Burgos with Alberto and Marisol exceeded my expectations. In this immersive environment I improved my listening ability as well as my speaking ability. Alberto and Marisol provided a very welcoming and encouraging experience and I enjoyed my time in their home very much. And I might add Marisol’s cooking was excellent! The walking tours of Burgos as well as the many excursions to local historical and natural sites added immensely to my experience. Also Alberto was a HUGE help in assisting me with the logistics involved with shipping extra suitcases to Spain and completing the NLV residency process in Spain…thank you!

My son Tom spent two weeks staying at Pilar’s beautiful house near Valencia. He hadn’t spoken Spanish for a little while, but was soon right back, loving the language and thoroughly enjoying socialising and speaking with all of Pilar’s friends and family. There were lots of visits into the city and to nearby tourist attractions over the two weeks, as well as barbecues and paella making evenings. Tom made some fabulous memories on this trip.
Pilar was an amazing host and Tom will definitely be keeping in contact with her. Really hope to see you soon!

Monica has been fantastic, she shared some great resources with me which were really useful for the exam. Monica is very friendly, patient, and intuitive to my learning requirements. Nothing was too much trouble and she was flexible with dates to suit me.
