Gemma has a wonderfully warm and enthusiastic teaching style that really made my daughter fall back in love with French again.. All lessons were rigorous but fun, and a welcome break from the Science A levels and relentless Medical school applications that were going on at the same time. A hugely positive experience. Gemma came recommended to us via our Daughter's school when looking for help with her GCSE Spanish, We felt this was as good a recommendation as we could hope for. Gemma was able to accommodate our daughter's challenging weekly diary and was equally adept in changing timings when her availability changed midterm. Gemma gave our daughter the confidence needed to start looking forward to her lessons, and her teacher was astounded at her progress from a flaky 5 to a solid 7 in a relatively short period of time. Gemma was able to accommodate us taking some time away to help with other mock exams since when she has made available some additional sessions nearer her exams should we need them (which we will)
I haven't always been an advocate of extracurricular tuition as it can bring a risk that students get complacent at school but in this instance Gemma's sessions appeared to dovetail with School lessons very well and her expectations appear accurately geared to the potential of the student. To conclude, we feel it has been a wholly positive experience so far...fingers crossed for the coming weeks. Huge thanks.
