The trainers are very experienced and I'm just amazed at their vast knowledge. They are very patient, giving detailed and honest feedback so that we can improve at the next stage. It's been a very tough but extremely refreshing 4 weeks on the CELTA course. The helpful staff at TH oxf also made lesson preparation easier which is much appreciated in the midst of the intensity. I could not be happier with my experience here at Teaching House Oxford! I got my CELTA certification here and am so glad I chose to do so. My instructors were excellent! (Thank you again, Mr. Simon Brown, Mr. David Briggs, and Mr. Steve, and everyone else whose names escape me). It was very intense, but it was all worth it. I benefitted enormously during the month-long CELTA course, during which I trained in Teaching English as a Foreign Language at the Teaching House’s Oxford English Center (OEC) in Oxford, UK. The teachers (David Briggs and Tina Samios) were superbly talented and engaging, and the OEC staff were kind, helpful, and efficient.

During the course I and my fellow teacher-trainees benefitted from giving nine lessons to students from diverse parts of the globe, ranging from China to Columbia, and from Ukraine to India to Russia.

We the trainees also gained critical insights from our teachers during our classroom sessions, which explored not only a variety of teaching methods but also different teaching environments such as classes for first-time learners and/or for immigrants fleeing their home countries.

I cannot fathom a more effective way to train. I recommend the course without reservation and will respond to further questions, assuming it is not a barrage!

Teaching House Oxford delivered the excellent University of Cambridge-moderated Celta course for pre-service English language teachers with lots of personalized attention! The venue is a lovely period building with nice pubs and restaurants nearby, very close to the historic city centre and colleges of Oxford. Highly recommended!
