DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES!!! (summary at end)
I was a student at Lansdowne Campus studying sport from September 2023. The college is completely disorganised in general and don't talk to other parts of college. E.g. if you tell the receptionist you are ill it will most likely not passed on. , college trips are planned horrifically etc.
My experience with one of the teachers was discusting, safeguarding did not make an effort to step in.
There was a knife crime incident last year, of which caused me a lot of stress and meant that I was very anxious coming into college. My attendance early this year was poor due to this valid and rational fear of mine. I asked for reasonable adjustments (I have depression, anxiety, and am currently ongoing a ADHD/autism assessment) of being able to work from home. The sports dep. responded awfully/not atall. With some teachers ignoring my requests to catch up on work and others threatening me to be kicked out of the college.
Once I had complained to the 'quality' team so they had to abide by their policies; me and my mum arranged a meeting, they put me on a 'fitness to study' policy (basically a loophole where they give reasonable adjustments then punish you if you don't conform). I was not told about me going on this policy before/during or even after this meeting until I had an email sent to my mum and not me (even though I'm 18) complaining about me having one day off. Mental health problems do not just go away. I had then been warned that I had breached my policy, I messaged my tutor and asked why I had not been told. I asked why I was being tested on my mental health instead of just being given the help I deserve. He told me that I wasn't being tested and that it was so they could put into play help. I smelt lies but just continued to try my best. I then pushed myself so hard to be in everyday, only having I believe 1 more day + 1 lesson missed, and attending plenty more than that, even though I came down with illness, had a back so sore I had to take co codomol and the anxiety obviously didn't go away like magic when they had only given me 1 day off a week, and the teacher I had on that day refuses to give me the powerpoints or answer my messages. Today they emailed my mum again. For reference the 'fitness to study' policy states that they have to do 3 meetings before a student can be kicked out, and I was meant the second meeting on the 11th Nov. They have kicked me out of college. The audacity is unreal.
Another lovely story: we were told to do a food diary for an assignment. I asked the teacher if anyone would see and said I didn't want that. He said it would only be him seeing it. When it was handed in, we all looked at examples from students in our class. He first picked a girl who wasn't in that day. Then once I had left the classroom to go to the toilet or something, he showed mine and played a fun guessing game with the class.
Summary : do not do it to yourself, this college is so neglectful, has loads of audacity, and does not follow their policies. Frankly, by law I have a protected by the discrimination act, and they don't only break this law but many more. They are corrupt and there are very few good stories of this place. They have ruined my future. STAY AWAY!

Very good. The taster menu tonight. It a collage restaurant to give the students experience. You need to be willing to try different flavour combinations!
