I’m about to finish my three month course of English study at the Langthorne Institute: tomorrow is the last day! It was a great experience, for which I’m very grateful.
When I arrived to London my English was almost zero, and in a short time I reached a level that I’d never have expected!
Alex is a fantastic teacher, who combines his great linguistic competence with an extraordinary pedagogical ability. He knows how to be an authoritative and at the same time almost a paternal guide for the youngest students, and manages to bring out the best in everyone. For those who are older, like me, he is a person with whom you can talk about everything, so that you don’t learn English just by studying the school material, which is abundant and carefully prepared. Rather, he teaches through a friendly relationship that lets you get to the heart of the language.
The small size of the school, as well as the extra-curricular activities spent together on pleasant excursions, promote a familiar atmosphere of informal dialogue between students, always under the careful supervision of Alex, becoming another tool for learning.
I’ve not taken advantage of the possibility of being hosted in Alex’s house, but I think this is an added value of this school.
For all these reasons I would highly recommend the Langthorne Institute to anyone who wants to learn or improve their English in London.

The strength of this school lies in the quality of its teaching, thanks to the professionalism
and dynamism of its teachers. It offers a limited group of students (between 6 and 9 during my only month) a multitude of exercises covering grammar rules, new vocabulary (phrasal verbs,
adjectives, slang, idioms, etc.) as well as work on pronunciation and oral expression. The two
teachers (Alex and Joseph) each have their own personality and teaching style, bringing two
different approaches based on their own life experience, which is very enriching when
learning a language. I would recommend this school to anyone looking for serious yet good
vibes teaching, with teachers who listen and are close to their students, all at a very
affordable price.

It's the second time we're attending this school. The teachers are friendly and well-prepared and the activities during the lessons challenging and useful to improve your English. On Fridays the school often organises group trips to London museums and it has always been a good time for us to practice our speaking skills and to make friends. The only negative point is that classrooms are small and hot, although this was probably due to the high summer temperatures. Good value for money

You'll find yourself speaking English more fluently thanks to their practical speaking exercises that are both fun and educational. One of the highlights of my experience was the organized trips to various museums and interesting places around London. During the summer, we had a barbecue at Alex's house, which was not only a great way to relax but also to practice our conversational skills in a casual setting. Alex has a unique way of making the learning process incredibly enjoyable.

Even though I only worked for two hours in the morning three times a week, I managed to notice a change in my English.
