I did the beginners Spanish class last year, only intending to do the year. However I’ve just started another year because the classes are so enjoyable. Joan is such a helpful and enthusiastic teacher who really goes the extra mile to make sure you’ve understood. Nothing is too much trouble. Thank you!

I'm just starting the second year of Spanish with Joan, having start as a complete beginner. The classes are a friendly and supportive place to learn, with a mix of listening, speaking and reading with a few games mixed in for fun... So much better than any language app!

Impressive and professional in my Spanish class and previously in French; a friendly atmosphere and great co-learners, I also do DuoLingo Spanish, but this class adds several dimensions more than digital language learning can ever achieve. Well worth it.

Lynne makes learning great fun and explains difficult bits so well, and has infinite patience if you don't get something! The other students are very friendly and it is fun learning! Learning Italian with Vicky has been a joy. The lessons are great fun, very varied and take place in a really supportive and relaxed atmosphere. Furthermore, Vicky lays on Italian film showings and optional holiday lessons; she also organises great events - such as quizzes and social evenings. The Modern Language School really is a fine place to learn a language - and the coffee is great too!
