My daughter was really lacking confidence in her reading and writing at school, I found the Reading doctor online, contacted Alison and very quickly we were invited for an initial assessment. Alison was so welcoming and put my daughter and me at ease straight away. My daughter attended sessions with Alison for a few months, she enjoyed her sessions and in time her confidence grew. Alison also gave me reassurance when things weren't working at home with reading and helped me develop strategies at home. In school she moved up reading levels quickly and she excelled in writing. She is now achieving above average in her reading and writing. This from a child who did not enjoy reading or writing now does it for pleasure. I would highly recommend the reading doctor.

Alison has been working with our daughter for a number of months now. Aside from the expert tutoring, helpful ways to remember spelling rules and support with conversations with school, the two things we are most pleased about are: that our daughter enjoys her sessions and genuinely looks forward to going; and the improvement in her self confidence. Enjoying learning and gaining confidence are the two most important factors in education in my view, so we cannot recommend Alison highly enough.

After some issues with phonics and spellings I contacted Alison seeking support for my son. She responded promptly and after an initial assessment quickly established a plan to target his gaps. He has now been attending weekly sessions for over 6 months and his decoding, reading fluency and comprehension have improved significantly. This has impacted on his writing, with him being recognised several times in school for his improvements. He moans about homework but loves his sessions with Alison, she has really boosted his confidence and self esteem. My daughter is now asking if she can go too!! Highly recommended.

We did the Developing Early Reading Skills session. Brilliant content, great to have a better understanding of what they are learning at school and how we can support that at home. Alison is really engaging and clear. Would highly recommend!

I attended Alison's group workshop as my 4 year old will be attending school this September so wanted to educate myself on the lastest teaching methods for reception and key stage 1.

Alison's session was incredibly informative and really went into depth on how phonics will be taught to my child and how I can help with their reading and language development at home.

I thoroughly recommend attending one of Alison's sessions as I think it will really help me support my childs learning and she also gave us tips on how to make reading, even the same book for homework, fun and engaging.

Really fair price for the session too and Alison delivers her workshop in a dedicated room in her house so you feel very relaxed and at ease to engage and ask questions.
