Joyful Dogs' puppy life skills course with Helen was excellent. We looked forward to the class each week and learned so much. Helen is great at helping you understand your puppy and was very patient and encouraging, treating each dog as an individual, taking into account their breed and personality so that no one was left behind. In between classes the WhatsApp group was also a really valuable - a place to exchange tips, challenges and achievements, and get midweek advice for various puppy life skills. We and our pup Robin thoroughly recommend Puppy Life Skills with Helen.

I’d highly recommend Helen at Joyful Dogs for puppy training! She was recommended to me by another local trainer and I’m so glad that happened. We have learned so much and over the 6 weeks encountered a few challenging behaviours at home that Helen really helped me work through and make a difference to. Honey has come on so much, she is focused and engaged and really enjoyed the sessions and the practice we have done at home. Helen is calm yet assertive and creates the perfect environment for people and their puppies to learn. I’m so grateful to have found her course and Honey is very proud of her rosette!

Bertie is a rescue pup and started Helen’s puppy classes the day after I collected him.
Helen’s class has helped Bertie to socialise with both people and other dogs. He is now able to follow simple commands such as sit, drop and focus. He is getting much better on the lead. The drop command is extremely useful and use it all the time.
Bertie is now greeting other dogs on walks without getting extremely excited, which makes the daily walks so much more enjoyable.
Helen’s class helped with all these things and demonstrated the best way to teach your puppy.

We had a fantastic experience with Joy, we first used joyful dogs when Tilly was a puppy, her puppy training classes were fun and engaging. More recently we did some one to one training due to stress and barking during our dog walks. Joy is very knowledgeable and has an excellent relationship with the dogs she works will. I would highly recommend her.

Nell and I thoroughly enjoyed our weekly puppy classes in Cheltenham with Helen - each week we had different exercises to practise with our puppy and we did manage to integrate this into our daily routine as well . We both loved meeting the other puppies , so interesting each week to see the development of our new family members.... Helen's calm and fun approach to puppy training has helped with Nell who is a collie and quite full on at times! I would definitely recommend as a great start for your new puppy - we would love to continue with some 'teens' training hopefully very soon. Thankyou so much a great opportunity.

The Joyful Dogs puppy course gave me and my pup the best start we could have wished for! Helen was super, knew our breed’s traits really well, was so patient and kind. I really liked Helen’s positive reinforcement approach and she was of course full of tips on the best food, harnesses, equipment to buy and the reasons why. I found the course really convenient as there were several options of time/date to choose from and she always came to the sessions with loads of treats and toys for our puppies to try out and buy there and then which I found so handy. Highly recommend Joyful dogs.

After not having a puppy for a number of years, Helen eased all of our worries and got us on the right track with training. Classes are chilled but teach all the initial tips and pointers to continue training once the sessions sadly end!
